Don founded Mortgage South in 1986 just at the end of the first real estate refinance boom. After working several years for a regional bank, he keep hearing many of his clients say that the bank mortgage department either would not call them back or was scheduling “application appointments” several weeks later. Don figured that there had to be a better way, and maybe some good old fashioned customer service for mortgage clients.

  Along the way he grew Mortgage South to be the largest independent mortgage lender in Chattanooga with at one time 25 loan officers and 8 offices, innovated and introduced several new products to the market, served as President of the local and state mortgage bankers and also personally originated over 1200 loans.

  Besides serving on several non profit boards, chairing some, and serving his church, Don loves the mortgage business and helping people.

  Don is a graduate of UT, Knoxville, has been married to Lindy for 26 years, has a son, Brian in college and a daughter, Elizabeth going next year, so he needs the work!
